Introducing Body Wise
Body Wise is a gentle, self-paced program for people with vaginismus who want to understand their bodies, not just push through dilating. It blends practical tools with lessons from yoga philosophy and a chakra-inspired approach to body awareness, so you learn what your body is carrying, what it needs, and tools to share that with partners and providers.
I built it from what I wish I'd had much earlier in my own journey. My vulva as a blossoming rose wasn't cutting it for me. I needed something meditative, empowering, and honest about the emotional side of all this.

What’s included in Body Wise?
Check Yourself Out: a guided mirror practice
Chapters allow selective review, enabling personalized pacing without sacrificing continuity. Transcripts and slide decks accompany each lecture to reinforce retention.
Getting Ready: dilating and practice prep
Being "ready" is rarely as simple as a candle and some music. You'll learn nervous system regulation tools to release the stress of your day, plus how to create a space that tells your body it's safe to say yes to time with yourself.
The Body Wise Tracker
Become a curious, caring scientist of your own body. Track pain and pleasure in your pelvic floor, sensations across your whole body, and your emotions, so you can spot patterns over time. Walk into PT with a real record of what's changed, and give your partner an actual map of what feels good and what doesn't. Use it as a simple spreadsheet or as a Claude-based app.
The 7 Power Practices
Guided meditations, each inspired by a chakra and the emotional theme it holds. Use them as visualizations, during hands-on practice, or while dilating, in whatever order your body asks for.
Sound Familiar?
You left PT feeling semi-confident, got home, and had no idea what you were actually supposed to do with that supersized tampon.
You were told to relax, put on a tv show or podcast, and breathe. Instead you got lost in someone else's plot and checked out of your own body.
You light the candle and dim the lights, but after a day of traffic, work stress, and hunger, your body is on high alert and nothing is getting "inside," if you know what I mean.
Dilating brings up feelings you don't have names for yet. Or the opposite: you get so bored you fall asleep. (Hello, possum mode.)
Dilators feel like a test you keep failing, with a built-in timeline your body never agreed to.
Your "tracking" is a few messy journal entries and a lot of guesswork, and you can't quite explain to your PT or partner what's going on.
If you nodded along, you're not doing it wrong. You just haven't been given tools that treat your body as something to connect with instead of something to fix.
Body Wise is for you if...
You have vaginismus and feel stalled in PT, therapy, or dilating
Dilators have felt stressful, discouraging, or like they made things worse
You're not ready for touch yet and want a gentle place to start
You tend to activate, get stressed, check out, go numb, or fall asleep when you try to practice
You want to understand the emotional side of vaginismus, not just track the pain
You want clearer ways to communicate what you need to a partner or provider
Meditation and visualization already help you in other parts of your life, or you’re open to exploring them.
Body Wise isn't for you if...
You're looking for a replacement for medical care. Body Wise is a supplement to the work you do with your providers, not a substitute for it.
You want a quick fix on a fixed timeline. Supporting your body moves more like a spiral than a straight line.
How it works
Sign up and get instant access. Everything is yours for life, on any device.
Start small. Your only invitation on day one is to read the short introduction. Just that.
Follow the email companion. Over about 30 days, short notes guide you from Check Yourself Out to the Body Wise Tracker, practice prep, and each Power Practice.
Go at your body's pace. Start with De-Armoring and stay as long as you need. Then take the other practices in whatever order feels right.
Keep practicing. Return to any practice, any time. Some weeks daily, some weeks not at all. There's no backsliding, only more to learn about yourself.
“[Yoga for Vaginismus] taught me to slow down to speed up, find success in resting, and make positive connections with such private parts of my body and my life. I didn't realize how interconnected literally everything is, and that healing each piece little by little makes for big progress in my vaginismus journey.”

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. Every practice starts with your hands, and you can begin with visualization alone if touch doesn't feel right yet. If you do want to use dilators, you'll find guidance on what to look for.
-
Then you start in your mind. Each Power Practice can be done purely as a visualization, helping your nervous system rehearse safety until touch feels like a real option. That's not skipping ahead or falling behind. It's preparation.
-
No. The chakras are a framework for organizing the emotional themes that come up with vaginismus, like safety, pleasure, self-worth, and voice. You don't need any background in yoga or energy work, and you're welcome to take them as metaphor.
-
Yes, and I encourage it. Body Wise is a supplement to your medical and therapeutic care, not a replacement. The tracker is designed so you can bring real data to your appointments.
-
The email companion runs about 30 days, but there's no deadline. You have lifetime access and can take each practice at whatever pace your body needs.
-
If you download and use the spreadsheet, only you. If you are comfortable with AI, the platform you use will store your data on their servers.
-
I created and tested this using Claude; it’s likely it will work in another platform like ChatGPT but I have not tried that so cannot report on the results.
-
That can happen, and it's a normal part of getting to know your body. De-Armoring is always there to return you to safety. If something feels like more than you can hold on your own, please reach out to a therapist or your care team.
-
Yes. The tracker and practices are designed to help you understand your body first, then share what you learn with a partner in a way that helps them actually support you. You could also use the practices with a partner.
You came into this with everything you need. Body Wise just helps you find it.
Slow down. Tune in. Get to know the body that's been trying to protect you all along.
